The Desert Field blanket collection is a collaboration between Fiona Lynch Office and Waverley Mills, Australia’s oldest working textile mill. The series captures the rich colours of the Larapinta Trail in Alice Springs, Australia, distilled into four distinctive palettes.

The Winton Connection

Winton Estate, stewarded by seven generations of the Taylor family since 1835, is home to Australia’s oldest continuing Saxon Merino stud. Their innovative Poll Merino line (Flock No. 1564), branded “JTW,” combines these time‑honoured strains with modern breeding to deliver an 18-micron yarn that brings exceptional softness, strength, and vibrancy to Fiona Lynch’s Larapinta inspired collection, all grown on a sustainably managed Tasmanian landscape. 

A Bit About Microns

The smaller the micron count, the finer the wool fibre will be. Wool typically falls in a range of 18–40 microns. These throws are made with supple 18-micron Merino wool, making them luxuriously soft, and the perfect cold weather companion.
